<div id="mp-tfa" class="mp-contains-float">'''LBIP''' is a [[LBIP:About#What is "peer-review"?|peer-reviewed]] [[LBIP:About#What is "citizen-science" or "crowdsourcing"?|citizen-science]] project launched in 2026 after more than two years of careful offline preparation.

The objective of this initiative is to document the biodiversity of Lebanon and build an [[LBIP:About#Why open-access?|open-access]] database of the Lebanese [[:Category:Animalia|fauna]], [[:Category:Plantae|flora]] and [[:Category:Fungi|funga]], but also the rich [[:Category:Fossils|fossil]] record. By making this information freely available, we aim to support scientific research, education, and conservation efforts.

Through this project and other future activities, we are working on raising awareness and promoting appreciation for our natural heritage.
